‘My biggest worries at this time are my re-sits’

Meet Denise, a 23 year old hairdresser who went for a career switch and started the study Physiotherapy. She is at the end of her second year and has two re-sits before she can enjoy a well deserved holiday. If she worries at all, it’s about those re-sits.

“My biggest worries at this time are those second-chance exams. I hope I will do well and finish the year in style. But I am a bit stressed out, to be honest. I will be happy when it’s all behind me.

DeniseI don’t worry too much about the future. I have got my parttime work as a hairdresser, so I make a little money. I’ve got an appartement where I live with my boyfriend. And I have my studies, which take up a lot of time. So I’m too busy to worry, I guess.

In two years I hope to finish my studies and find work as a physiotherapist. But I also want to keep working as a hairdresser. I think I need that variation.

I’m a real people person, I like to make people happy and let them feel good about themself. In the future I would like to work with people with a neurological impairment, people with down syndrome for example. To make a difference in their lives, that would be grateful work.

For now my focus is totally on my re-sits. And after that I’m going on a holiday with my boyfriend. We are going island hopping in Greece. Enjoying the sun, the beach and the Greek culture. A real nice prospect.” [Ivo van der Hoeven]
